Born in Ravenna in 1972, he is a visual artist, director, and professor of Videoart at NABA in Milan and ABA in Ravenna.
His works have been displayed in many national and international museums and exhibitions, including: 55th Venice Biennale, Museo MAXXI (Rome), Museo Marino Marini (Venice), R. Solomon Guggenheim Museum (New York); Prague Biennal 5 (Prague); XIV International Sculpture Biennale of Carrara (Carrara); 14 Media Art Biennale Wro (Polonia); Galleria ZERO… (Milano); N.O. Projects developed with DATABASE
In 2012 he participated in the firts edition of DATABASE with a screening at the Marble Museum of Carrara of his documentary film “Il Capo” – the first of a trilogy of films on the topic of work, which includes “Piattaforma Luna” and “Da Vinci”- produced in Carrara with support from the company Gemeg.
During the event, Yuri Ancarani was invited by DATABASE to address the public along with independent curator Elena Marcheschi and Giulia Simi, digital communications consultant. On this occasion, his prior videos were also presented, along with the second instalment of the trilogy, “Piattaforma Luna”.
